A ‘semi-psychic’ bid is a bid made deliberately with the intention of confusing the opponents but which only slightly misdescribes the hand.
Examples are the ‘third-in-hand opener’ on A-K-J-x-x in the suit with a bust outside or a no-trump bid that is a few points under strength or lacking a stopper in the opposing suit.
